The Fourth Blog: Ambassador Patriotism

Well... I finished class yesterday at 530 and instead of staying at the library like I had planned, I headed for home. As I was driving down Riverside Drive I realized that there was a tiny part of a rainbow in the sky in the opposite direction to where I was driving. So... I turned it around and drove down to the west side of Windsor. I went down to one of the parks down there and spent an hour shooting photos. I couldn't really get anything good with the rainbow, so I diverted my attention to the beautiful winter scenery around me. The silky smooth snow and ice covered river really made for a scene to shoot (and enjoy). It was a beautiful day, but considering I had no coat and no gloves my hands were pretty frost bitten... however I didn't want to leave. Until my camera started to die. I hopped in my car and drove about 100 yards down the street before I pulled into another parking lot to shoot some photos closer to the Ambassador Bridge. Then I drove about a mile down the road to the opposite side of the bridge to shoot some there. My camera was being very stubborn and I didn't have my spare battery so I turned it off and made my way down to the next park... took a few there. Then headed home, and realized that the ship was docked and looking very patriotic. Considering the recent events of the Olympics I decided to see how much juice my camera would allow me to squeeze out of it. I hopped out, leaving the car running so I could get warm right away, and shot a few photos of the ship and flags before my camera shut off completely. It was an hour and a half before this point. I couldn't believe I was out so long, considering I was headed home and didn't expect to stop for any photography that day... But hey, that's why I have my camera on me at all times!!

I hope you enjoy what I have here. Again, if you have any comments, questions or suggestions please let me know.
