The Twelfth Blog: Old Windsor Dragway

On Thanksgiving weekend I made a trip to the Old Windsor Drag way with Todd, and explored the scenery and old concession stands. It was pretty cool, and I’d never been there before. I posted a couple of the pics from the hike there a while back, but here are a couple of my fav’s from that day. Hope you find something you like J

The Eleventh Blog: 'Marvel'ous

Last week I was approached by students at the Marvel’s Beauty School for Hairstyling and Esthetics. They’re looking to expand their portfolios, as am I; so I agreed to a photo-shoot. The theme of this one was Halloween, but I am doing another one this weekend entitled “High-fashion Hobos”. It should be interesting. The lighting for this shoot was AWFUL, since it was DARK, outside, no external flash’s or light boxes...I did best I could with the conditions, but there are shadow’s all over the place; couldn’t really help it. I hope you at least like the hair and make-up the girls did.

Cheers,

Ashlyne

Tenth Blog: Hiking and being attacked by Hitchhikers...the plant

On Thanksgiving Monday I went out to the Old Windsor Dragway to snap some shots. I haven't got around to the photos of the actual Dragway, so those will come soon...but here are a couple from the hike on the way there. I hope you find something you like.

The Ninth Blog: WOW

WOW, I have not posted since June...when the tornado hit Leamington. I have taken so many photos since then, and even bought my first Canon SLR 20D. I figure by the time I get the hang of this camera, and learn more about the technicality of photography I’ll be ready for a 50D. Until then, I’m loving mine. Here are a few of my favourite photos from the past couple months. Keep in mind that choosing favourites is quite difficult since it has been 3 months! Some of these were taken with my Sony CyberShot, and some were taken with the 20D. Hope you enjoy, and feel free to comment.

Thanks all,

Ashlyne

The Eighth Blog: Leamington Tornado

On June 5, 2010 a tornado hit Leamington destroying and damaging many homes and properties, especially those along Seacliff Drive. Fortunately no one was killed, but one family was counting their blessings. When *Jane Doe* said she had a bad feeling and didn’t want to be at home on Saturday night, her husband thought it was just another one of her “inklings”. He eventually gave in, and the couple took their young son away for the night. Needless to say, they were experiencing some mixed feelings when they discovered a huge tree lying in the middle of their house, across their son’s bed. Thank God, they were not home that night!

Anyways, I went out with my family to drive around and take photos. Unfortunately almost all of the roads with damage had been closed off and police were directing traffic all over the place. Most of the pictures I took were from the vehicle, so I didn’t get a lot of what I wanted. Hopefully you see something that catches your eye.

The Seventh Blog: Looking Back

I obviously haven’t posted in a long time, again. Not only have I not really had the photos to do so, but time seems to have got the best of me as well. Don’t ask me how; I technically have quadruple the amount of time that I had while in classes. I have not really been able to go out and shoot anything interesting. I have a few cool shots, but I will save those for another day.

I decided that for today, I wanted to post some of my older photos. It’s just basically sitting in a folder on my computer, so why not post some of it. You’ll notice different signatures throughout the photos (Artisticated Ivy, Ashlyne Ivy, Ashlyne Ivy O’Neil, Ivy Photography...) That is because originally I wanted to do photography under Ivy Photography, but realized someone already had that name, so I started playing around with signatures. I hope you enjoy what you see here, and it keeps you coming back.
I just realized that I posted a lot of photos...so hopefully I keep your attention long enough to look at them all.
Cheers, Ashlyne
